Exploration Geologist
The Exploration Geologist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mapping coal deposits to support mining operations. This role involves conducting geological surveys, core sampling, and data analysis to assess the quality, quantity, and structure of coal seams. The Exploration Geologist interprets geological data to generate accurate resource models, guiding mine planning and development. They work closely with drilling teams, mining engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure efficient and sustainable resource extraction while complying with regulatory and safety standards.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological exploration, preferably in coal mining. Experience with coal seam modeling and resource estimation is a plus.
- Proficiency in geological mapping, core logging, and data analysis.
- Experience using geological software for modeling and resource estimation (e.g., Minex, Vulcan, or Datamine).
- Strong understanding of coal geology, sedimentary formations, and drilling techniques.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Willing to work in remote area
