Lead Science Advisor, Indonesia Forest Program
The Conservancy (TNC) is seeking to recruit an experienced conservation scientist as Lead Science Advisor, to oversee the scientific aspects of implementation of the Conservancy’s strategic plan for forest conservation, under the direction of the Indonesia Forest Program Director. The lead Science Advisor will ensure a high degree of scientific quality for the program, facilitate the role of partners and the efforts of technical staff scientists in program implementation, mentor program managers, monitor progress on science program goals, and initiate corrective actions to ensure a coordinated and effective forest science program. The Lead Science Advisor will be located in The Nature Conservancy’s office in Jakarta or Balikpapan.
Applicants must have a PHD or equivalent in Tropical Forrest Ecology, Terrestrial Ecosystem and Landscape Ecology, Conservation Biology or related discipline and at least five yeas experience working in field settings in the tropics as a researcher or conservation planner. Candidates and should be fluency in written and spoken English is required as is a good command of Bahasa Indonesia.
