TRAINING & OUTREACH MANAGER
The Governments of Australia and Indonesia jointly established the Australia-Indonesia Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction (AIFDR) in Jakarta in November of 2008. The AIFDR is a five year program that aims to strengthen national and local capacity in disaster management in Indonesia and contribute to a more disaster resilient region. It is a tangible response to the growing challenges of natural disasters in Indonesia. AIFDR wishes to recruit a Training & Outreach Manager who will be responsible for the delivery of the Training and Outreach work program within the AIFDR.
The Training and Outreach Manager will work with the National Emergency Management Agency (BNPB), selected sub-national governments and civil society groups to help deliver a program to increase the capacity of Indonesian and regional disaster managers to prepare for, mitigate and manage natural hazard risks, increase the capacity of national and sub-national governments to effectively implement disaster risk reduction practices and increase public awareness of approaches to, and the need for, disaster risk reduction.
This non-ongoing International Specialist Position will be based in the AIFDR office located in Jakarta. The initial appointment will be for a period of 15 Months starting 1 April 2012, with a possible extension of up to 21 Months.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications.
